Crochet artist Melissa Acla to attend Kannapolis Arts fest

Landis, N.C.  based crochet artist Melissa Acla, with Inspired by Ash, will be a guest at the September 27 Kaleidoscope Cultural Arts Festival from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Kannapolis.

“I’ve always been crafty! I love many different things – photography, scrapbooking, crocheting.”

“Once I had a son, I realized just how little there was out there for boys!! Why is this? Are boys supposed to be in jogging pants all of the time? I gave up in clothing stores before he was even born! A whole store dedicated to girls (no offense!), and one rack for boys.”

“So then after doing many events with Scentsy business, I really took notice of the crafters that made all sorts of cute girly stuff. Then I was on a mission!! A mission to find patterns or crafts for boys!! Then Inspired By Ash was born! (Ashton being my son’s name). Of course I won’t leave girls out, I would love to make anything for a little girl too!”
