48 Hour Film Project: Charlotte shorts screen Aug. 21

Filmmaking teams throughout the Charlotte area scrambled to complete a short film over the course of a weekend for this year’s 48 Hour Film Project: Charlotte. Films were due on Sunday, August 17 and the last few minutes before the deadline official saw filmmakers operating on little sleep and lots of adrenaline, rushing to get their films in on time.

Grammy nominated performer Jimmy Harrison will perform at the Sept. 27 Kaleidoscope Cultural Arts Festival in downtown Kannapolis. He will perform with his wife Darlene Harrison who has sang with American Gospel singer and pastor John P. Kee. The duo will perform 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 in front of Sunshine’s Asian Cuisine, 215 W A St, Kannapolis.

Kannapolis folk singer Brandon Thomas to perform Kaleidoscope

Kannapolis-based musician Brandon Thomas will be set up outside the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame during the September 27 Kaleidoscope Cultural Arts Festival in downtown Kannapolis. He will be performing from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at 109 West A. Street, Kannapolis, N.C.
