Schuldt has been providing a free monthly short story challenge since April 2012. Schuldt offers a place where creative writers can exercise the craft of writing fiction while making good connections in the group, Writers750.com
. Each month serious fiction writers are welcome to write a short story in the thriller, fantasy, science fiction, mystery, horror and/or contemporary fiction genres and to make it available for others in the group to read. Her philosophy is to write what you know and to use your own natural writer’s voice. Schuldt encourages writers to read each other’s stories and provide helpful feedback. Short stories are usually due on the 25th of each month. Voting is available during the last five or six days of the month. Winners are announced on the 1st day of the month. Cabarrus County artists and musicians please e-mail me at email@example.com about the Independent Tribune letting me start up a series of “mini” profiles. Get in touch with me so I can send you a list of questions for you to fill out with some images of your work. We plan to start running these with our Entertainment Calendar which will be launching soon. This is focused on Cabarrus County artists and musicians for right now, just to give a heads up. It’s also open to anyone living in the Rowan County portion of Kannapolis. Take care and thanks! Mike
